Actress Lauren London Hints At An ‘ATL 2’ sequel

If you were wondering what happened to the characters Rashad, New New, Ant and Esquire from the hit ‘ATL’ film, well you won’t have to be curious much longer. Actress Lauren London who played ‘New-New’ in the previous film, posted a picture on her Instagram page saying “family,” hinting that the cast has recently reunited, and are possibly working on a sequel.

In the original ATL film directed by Chris Robinson, a coming-of-age film, he tells the story of four working-class teenagers, who live in an Atlanta neighborhood where hip-hop music rules and the coolest place to hang out is the local roller-skating rink. As the friends look forward to new horizons after high school, they face challenges on and off the rink that bring about turning points in their lives.

According to the Hollywood Life news, Rapper T.I.P Harris, who played Rashad in the film, has been teasing the coming of a sequel for the past two years on social. He captioned a photo in 2015, “#ATL2 Get Ready.” However, this Labor Day weekend, he posted yet another photo of a few of the cast members, Lauren London (New New), twins Khadijah Haqq McCray (Veda) and Malika Haqq (Star) walking around on set. His caption for the photo read; “Family Reunion.”

Although London, and Harris have posted on social media hinting at the project, other celebrity cast mates have chimed in as well. Evan Ross has also posted about a reunion, and even long time actor Jason Weaver has made it known that the film is indeed happening.
