André 3000 Pays Tribute To Late Mother With 2 New Songs, Listen Here

Happy Mother’s Day!

While celebrating Mother’s Day this year, André 3000 simultaneously paid tribute to his late mother Sharon Benjamin-Hodo, who passed in 2013, with new music.

Additionally, the Outkast rapper just created a brand new Soundcloud account to debut the pair of new songs, “Me&My (To Bury Your Parents)” and “Look Ma No Hands.”

In addition to the new tracks, he took to Instagram to write: “Happy Mother’s Day. I’m sure all the cards, dinners, flowers and last minute gifts are appreciated but I’ve learned the best gift a parent could get is to simply know their child is ok.”

Although the 42-year-old teased at his retirement last year, he bounces back for his first original songs as a solo artist, apart from his group with Big Boi.

For the first track, “Me&My (To Bury Your Parents),” André gets emotional on this piano ballad, touching on the memories of his mother and father.

On the second, “Look Ma No Hands,” for 17 minutes we hear a jazz instrumental, featuring James Blake on the piano as 3 Stacks hits the bass clarinet.
