A Milwaukee man is currently on trial for the deaths of his girlfriend and her daughter.
Patrick Fowler, 33, is accused of stabbing Jessica Ellenberger, 28, and her daughter, Madyson Marshel, 4. After stabbing them, he set their bodies on fire.
Fowler, who had only been with Ellenberger for a month, told authorities he got into an argument with his girlfriend, felt ‘disrespected,’ and began stabbing her multiple times.
After killing his girlfriend, he then proceeded to stab her 4-year-old cancer surviving daughter. He also took her coloring books as kindle to set their bodies on fire.
During trial, Fowler was asked why he set both of them on fire, and he brought up the Eminem song, which is about a man who strangles his girlfriend after realizing that she does not love him anymore.
“Don’t play games; it’ll be dangerous if you f— me over,” Fowler recited to the cops. ‘Cause if I get burnt I’ma show you what it’s like to hurt. ‘Cause I’ve been treated like dirt before you and love is evil, spell it backwards. I’ll show ya.”
Fowler had just spent the day with Eldenberger and her daughter for Easter.
According to reports, closing arguments are expected to be presented later in the day on Friday, after which the case will go to the jury for deliberations.
