BTS’ ‘Love Yourself: Tear’ Becomes First K-Pop Album To Land Billboard 200’s No. 1 Spot

BTS is making US-history!

Korean boy band BTS just made US-history as their debut album ‘Love Yourself: Tear‘ becomes the first K-Pop feat to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Not only is this the first chart-topper for the Korean-Pop genre, but also for the band, as they make their debut, following their 2018 fan-voted Billboard Award for Top Social Artist.

The project, released on May 18, launched with 135,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. (100,000 in traditional album sales), in the week ending May 24, per Nielsen Music.

Additionally, the group’s new album hits as the biggest week yet for the genre, both in overall units and traditional album sales.
