Eboni K. Williams On Becoming First Black Woman On RHONY & Being Told To Change Her Image On Hollywood Unlocked with Jason Lee [UNCENSORED]
In this week’s episode of Hollywood Unlocked with Jason Lee [UNCENSORED], Jason, DJ Damage and Blue Telusma, welcome attorney and television host Eboni K. Williams!
Just as her career is blossoming in several fresh directions, Williams dishes to Lee and company the struggles of being a “10-year overnight success,” as the first African-American cast member on Bravo TV’s The Real Housewives of New York City, the Host and Executive Producer of both her late-night talk show State of the Culture on Revolt TV and her new legal podcast Holding Court with Eboni K. Williams on The Black Effect Podcast Network. Most importantly she is an attorney renowned for her sharp analysis of legal and cultural issues.
Responding to Lee and the team’s casually welcoming atmosphere, Williams shares plenty of behind-the-scenes details about her first season on RHONY and her frustration over the last 10 years of her career, including how close friends and family predicted she wouldn’t last and needed to change her image, including surgery, to connect with the culture and keep her job. She also shares the joys of finally having people recognize her and her work and all her exciting future plans.
Lee says although it has been too long in coming, he is honored to have hosted Williams, whose career is finally reaching the heights her talents and experience merit.
