It’s a miracle, to say the least, that the Windy City has went one week without any fatal shootings.
As reported by the Chicago Sun, the last fatal shooting happened on February 26 at 10:48 am in the North Lawndale neighborhood of the West Side.
26-year-old James Morris was sitting in a parked minivan by the 1300 block of South Kedzie on Sunday morning. A silver car approached the vehicle and shots rang out, killing Morris. He was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 11:15 am.
The Sun Times calculated that there has been 101 homicides in Chicago, including a child abuse case that killed a 2-month-old baby girl.
