Cops Defend Black Real Estate Investor After White Woman Calls 911
On Tuesday, black real estate investor Michael Hayes was casually doing his job; inspecting a house in Memphis when a white neighbor, Tiffany Albert, demanded to know why he was outside.
Instead of believing Hayes was there to work, Albert escalated the situation by calling the police on him. Hayes recently shared a video that captures his entire experience with the racist neighbor when he went to inspect the house he had recently invested in. Hayes said that he even showed the woman his investment contract, which showed that he had permission to work on the house, as well as the written permission he received from the homeowner. Still, Albert wasn’t having it and called the police anyway.
Rather than police showing up and taking Albert’s side, the cops were quick to call her out on her bs and defend Hayes.
“If you have any problems with her, what I want you to do is call me back over here,” a male officer told Hayes. “She will go to jail for that.”
“Hurry up, do it and get out!” the woman then said to Hayes. She even threatened that she was friendly with the sheriff.
“He can take all day,” the officer replied to her.
At Hayes’ request, the officers decided to stay with him as he continued to take photos of the home for inspection.
“The police, they were on my side,” Hayes says at the end of the video. “I’m happy to be going home now.”
