Eddie Murphy sent Twitter into a frenzy after teasing his followers to a possible sequel to his classic movie, Coming To America.
While the official details have yet to be released, TMZ reported sources close to Murphy revealed that he is in the “early writing stages” of the project. If Murphy’s tweet is real and there is a potential sequel on the way, this could mean the film would be released sometime next year.
However, next summer will make 30 years since the classic romantic comedy was released in theaters. Murphy’s camp told the publication that he did not send out the tweet and that he has a social media team that handles that. The tweet included a picture of Vanessa Bell Calloway’s character with the caption,“Coming to America sequel?”After making its way throughout Twitter and having been shared and re-shared throughout the Internet, Eddie’s account was deleted, and no other word was released confirming the sequel. But that didn’t stop the Twitter world from trolling Eddie Murphy with their love or dislike for a sequel of the film.
I wouldn’t know how to feel about a coming to America sequel. First one is just straight up classic raw comedy
