Black actors in Hollywood are taking over and Michael B. Jordan is definitely holding it down for the guys! The Newark, NJ native is in his prime and without a doubt at the peak of his career. He recently starred in the super-hero action thriller Fantastic Four, plus he stars in the lead role of the upcoming release of Creed (yes an extension of Sylvestor Stalone’s infamous Rocky) set to hit theaters November 25th! What Jordan is most excited about though is fulfilling his childhood dream of landing the cover of GQ Magazine- a dream that just recently came true as he graces the cover of the brand new October issue! “I’m living the dream, man. This is crazy for me, bro! The cover of GQ was something I always wanted to do as a kid, bro—like, unreal”. Jordan sits down with GQ for a candid discussion on being a black actor in Hollywood. “There’s no blueprint to what I want to do. You know, we got Leo, we got Tom Hanks, we got Brad Pitt, we got Ben Affleck—they always get the roles and the characters that, you know, fit the mold. When it comes to African-American characters, there’s a huge gap between old school and new school.” He also discusses his new movie Creed and meeting Sylvester Stalone for the very first time. “First meeting him, you never know what you’re going to get yourself into; then you realize he’s smart as fuck. He’s dope.” The editorial wouldn’t be GQ if their was no style talk which lead to Jordan sharing a few of his very own style tips. One tip Jordan shares is to get a good tailor!
