Our favorite girl Zendaya is slaying as usual and this time she’s front and center of the brand new cover of Complex Magazine! Complex actually named the Disney star and fashion icon as their “Woman of the Year” for their December/January issue. That’s not all either- Complex sat down with Zendaya for an in-depth interview and as usual she’s dropping bombs of wisdom as she shares her opinions on several hot topics!
When asked about the stigma surrounding child stars and life after Disney (Miley Cyrus in particular) Zendaya had this to say- “A lot of [child stars] were forced into being role models and they had to pretend to be something that they didn’t feel matched up with who they were”.
“You’ve got to realize when you’re really young you don’t know who you are yet. And as soon as you figure it out, you’ve already been forced to become something that you didn’t really know you signed up for.”
As for herself- she doesn’t plan on shedding the quote on quote Disney image anytime soon because its who she really is. “In order to avoid those problems just be yourself from the beginning and be honest with the world, because that’s the only thing you can do, There will be no surprises …I’m not suddenly going to be like woo, crazy.”
