Paige Johnson has been suspended from future equestrian competitions.
According to reports, Johnson, 31, daughter of BET co-founder Robert L. Johnson, is taking the ‘L’ after her horse, ‘Luke Skywalker,’ failed a routine drug test.
Reportedly, her groomer says it was all his fault after he allegedly rubbed the wrong cream on Skywalker.
Sergio Molinero says he went to Walmart to grab the usual antibiotic cream they used to treat small cuts on her horse.
“I now realize after Paige was able to find my receipt for the purchase that I made a mistake and pulled the wrong tube off the shelf because it looked so much like the one we always use,” Molinero told the FEI.
The Palm Beach Post reports Molinero has been Johnson’s groomer for the past 15 years and has been working with Luke Skywalker since they bought him in 2015.
Paige will be suspended for a year. She was the first black American to win a major grand prix in 2015.
Let’s take a look back at Paige’s races with ‘Luke Skywalker.’
