In the wake of the Paris attacks, the love shown around the world was accompanied by incredibly insensitive and hateful reactions from many non-Muslims.
The light of some of these tragic moments, is in that people who wouldn’t normally speak out on these issues do so for good. French Montana isn’t a political guy in the public eye. He’s a rapper and usually sticks to that, but with recent events it seems the ignorance hit home for French who is not only a Sunni Muslim, but a man who’s native languages were both Arabic and French.
The emcee was caught by the TMZ cameras over the weekend and delivered a short, but poignant, message to those issuing hate:
“Asalaam alaikum. Don’t blame it on Muslims, blame it on crazy people.”
Hopefully, like French asks, people realize that there are 2 billion Muslims in the world and .006% of that population are a part of ISIS. Muslims are often the most targeted by these terror groups and it would do us all some good to practice some compassion and good old common sense.
