Get Out killed ticket sales at the box office this weekend, but it is sadly no longer apart of the 100% rating club on Rotten Tomatoes.
The perfect score was knocked down to a 99% by just one reviewer by the name of Armond White, who called the film a “get-whitey” movie. He also compared the star of the film, Daniel Kaluuya‘s looks to the Sambo archetype, and LaKeith Stanfield‘s performance to “an impression of Dave Chappelle‘s still-puzzling neurosis.”
In response, Stanfield tweeted then deleted this message:

We can’t say this wasn’t expected, given that this is the same man who got kicked out of the New York Critics Circle for painting 12 Years A Slave director Steve McQueen as an “embarrassing doorman.” He even went in on Toy Story 3.
This 1% ratings drop does mean that Jordan Peele‘s directorial debut will not be joining the exclusive group of films that have a perfect score on the movie critic website.
Regardless, 99% is still a great rating!
