This past Thursday, Chef Paulie Giganti, 36, was found dead in his Philadelphia home.
According to RadarOnline, Chef Giganti was discovered unresponsive at his home in Philadelphia. A source with the Philadelphia Police Department told the publication the investigation is ongoing. An autopsy will be conducted by the medical examiner’s office Friday.
In a statement, the source in the department said:
“It has not been deemed a homicide at this time. When you are dealing with someone of Mr. Giganti’s age, uniformed police do routinely come out if it is apparent his death was caused by another than the homicide unit would get involved. We are going to have to wait for the autopsy to see what happened.”
The Brooklyn native got his start cooking at a restaurant while still in college. Paulie appeared on season 16 of Hell’s Kitchen, hosted by Gordon Ramsay. The season aired from September 2016 to February 2017, with the self-taught cook making it into the top 5 before being eliminated.
Giganti ran a restaurant called Birra in Philadelphia.
