‘Horrific’ School Bus Collision With Dump Truck Sends Several Hurt Students To 3 Hospitals, Closes New Jersey Hwy

Multiple injuries have been reported.

At least three different hospitals have received several injured East Brook Middle School students following a horrific school bus collision with a dump truck on Route 80 West in Mount Olive Township in Morris County, New Jersey Thursday morning (May 17).

In addition to a “mangled” school bus, off of its chassis and flipped on its left side, Mount Olive Mayor Rob Greenbaum described the aftermath as “horrific;” as reports claim that one student has died and others seek emergency relief at nearby hospitals.

As multiple Fifth Graders arrived to Hackettstown Medical Center, St. Joseph’s University Medical Center and St. Clare’s Health in Dover and Denville, the exact number and their conditions is still unknown.

In addition, officials closed the Westbound lanes as they continue to investigate the active scene, from Exit 19 to the accident site at Exit 25.

Additionally, authorities closed one Eastbound lane of Route 80.
