HU Exclusive: Giving You The Keys To The Premiere Of Motherless Brooklyn

Hollywood Unlocked was on the carpet for the Premiere of “Motherless Brooklyn” where we got to talk to some of the cast about the movie!


Motherless Brooklyn is taking viewers back to the 1950s’ in New York as Edward Norton not only stars in the film but directed and wrote it as well!

Norton plays the character Lionel who is a private detective living with Tourette’s syndrome. Lionel is tasked with solving the murder of one of his only friends.

Due to his Tourette’s, he tends to spit out random thoughts, but that doesn’t stop him from using the very limited clues that he has as well as his incredible memory to help him figure the mystery out!

When asking Norton aobut the overall story of the film, he shared that there is a song in the film called “daily battles” which could be seen as the theme of the whole film.

“In many ways I think that’s the theme, everybody is dealing with personal struggles.”

This film is based on Jonathan Lethem’s 1999 novel but was shifted to the ’50s for this film which Ethan Suplee who plays Gilbert Coney says talks about topics that are still relevant to today.

You can expect to see stars like Norton, Bruce Willis, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Suplee and so many more in the movie that is playing now!
