Just weeks after announcing the cancellation of her Unbreakable World Tour, Janet Jackson is making headlines for something quite dire.
According to Radar Online, Janet was undergoing treatment for her vocal chords when doctors found a growth and began additional testing to determine if the singer has throat cancer. A source close to the camp said, “doctors found a growth on Janet’s vocal chords that could be serious. It’s a medical condition that has to be taken care of immediately.”
Janet’s Unbreakable tour was announced along with her latest album of the same name. The tour kicked off in August just as the album took the top slot on the Billboard 200. However, she announced in October that two dates had to be rescheduled to rest her vocal chords. In December, she announced the full postponement of the tour, stating, “I learned today from my doctors that I must have surgery soon…Please pray for me, my family, and our entire company during this difficult time.”
