Back in 2015, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced that they were getting divorced after 10 years of marriage. After rumored reports that the two were trying to make things work, both have now decided to officially file the paperwork.
According to TMZ, both Affleck and Garner filed the docs together, and they both are seeking the same things, including joint, legal, and physical custody of their three kids. There was no prenuptial agreement, so they are also working out a financial settlement.
The two have remained friendly towards each other while co-parenting their children, which is probably why the case will not be done in court, but actually by a mediator, where things can be discussed much more civilly.
Judging from their positive relationship, both Affleck and Garner can possibly come to a settlement that is best for the both of them, and end the divorce on a smooth note.
“No matter what happens, Ben and Jen are committed to raising their family as one unit and will continue to do so as it has worked for them,” a close source to the family told US Weekly.
