Over the weekend, a very surprising duet hit the e-streets and I’m pretty sure everyone is just counting the refreshes until the full CDQ leaks.
On Saturday, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez sneakily debuted a duet track on Drake’s OVO Sound Radio. Because, Drake can apparently get anyone to do anything. Titled “Strong,” the song is a stripped down ode full of post-breakup angst.
Gomez kicks off the lyrical convo, saying, “I’m just wishing you were better at communication…” and later, “Wishing I was better with the distance.”
And who is the “you” who’s so far away?
Bieber, of course, who chimes in with, “You’re the only one I’m really missing.”
The couple were an on-and-off item for 4 years and this is the first time they have recorded a song together. Since the song hasn’t been officially released, the transcribed lyrics will have to do, though the real fun is reading between the lines.
“What should I do? Should I go? / Who do I talk to? Nobody knows,” Bieber asked in the track. Gomez is later heard singing, “Wishing I was better at this damn thing / ‘Cause it’s just been too long and I can’t change.”
Both singers haven’t commented on the track and no official word on if the song will be featured on Bieber’s upcoming album, Purpose, out Nov. 13.
The real winner here? Drake…again, guys.
