Yeezy earns his eighth No. 1 in a row.
The June 1-released album, via G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam, scored 208,000 equivalent album units (85,000 in traditional sales) in the week ending June 7, per Nielsen Music.
In addition, reports state that it was the fifth-largest week for an album this year and the seventh-largest streaming debut week ever, equating to 180.1 million on-demand audio streams.
In addition to ‘Ye,’ Yeezy scored the top spot beginning with 2005’s Late Registration, Graduation, 808s & Heartbreak, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Watch the Throne (with JAY-Z), Yeezus and The Life of Pablo.
Furthermore, Yeezy could make it a record-breaking nine straight wins, should he and Kid Cudi‘s joint album ‘Kids See Ghosts‘ follow suit.
Additionally, should the album fail to meet that feat, it could also wreck Kanye’s streak. We’ll see!
