With YEEZY Season 1 ready to land in retailers and the buzz just now dying down on YEEZY Season 2, Kanye sat down with Vanity Fair to speak about his splitting time between designing clothing and working on music.
Although Kanye fans are all waiting with baited breath for Swish to receive a concrete release date, Kanye’s latest stance on the album doesn’t look promising. The YEEZY Season 2 presentation was coupled with the premiere of a new song called “Fade,” but it’s clear West isn’t interested in rushing anything:
“[Swish is] like a sonic landscape, a two-year painting. That song I played has been a year and a half in the making and it may be still a year from being complete. But it was to let people get a glimpse at the painting. I’m not worried about the years. I’m worried about the life and the body of work that I can put out while I’m breathing.”
Kanye even talked candidly about his intentions on a Psidential run in 2020:
“I’ve got five years before I go and run for office and I’ve got a lot of research to do, I’ve got a lot of growing up to do. My dad has two Masters degrees. My mom has a PhD.”
