Kanye West Will Receive the “Video Vanguard Award” at the 2015 MTV VMAs

The 2015 MTV “Video Music Awards” are just days away, and today, the network announced that the recipient of this year’s “Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award” is none other than Kanye West.

West will be presented with the award on Sunday night, where he will be recognized for his timeless videos and a career that has been essential to music. This award is the VMA’s highest honor, and in the past has been presented to the likes of Beyoncé, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, and more. It’s unclear if ‘Ye is going to perform during the show, but he is nominated for one other award for his appearance on Big Sean’s “One Man Can Change the World” with John Legend.

The awards, which will be hosted by Miley Cyrus, will air live this Sunday night at 9:00 PM PST from Los Angeles. Watch MTV’s promo video announcing Kanye as this year’s recipient of the award below.
