Every fashion designer once said looks from the past would make a major comeback, and we couldn’t agree more. Looks from the 70s, 80s, and 90s are finding their way back on the racks and in closets.
Windbreakers are the newest trend to pop back up in the fashion industry, especially on runways. During this past Super Bowl, Lady Gaga was seen sporting a colorful trench windbreaker.
Of course, Gaga is not the first nor is she the last to rock this style. Designer Alexander Wang’s super sporty Spring 2017 show in collaboration with Adidas Originals debuted the unique materials jackets.
Superstar singer and mogul in her own right, Beyoncé also debuted her 2017 line for Ivy Park, which featured an olive green windbreaker.
Louis Vuitton’s Spring Cruise 2017 presentation in Rio De Janeiro also debuted their own version of the trend through patchwork windbreakers that were simultaneously utilitarian and fashion-forward.
Other model celebrities include Gigi Hadid, who is a face for designer Tommy Hilfiger. She was seen just last month on the beach rocking a striped American themed jacket.
Of course, like any other trend, once it’s seen on the runway, it’s seen on the streets in all types of fashions.
Whether tucked into jeans, cinched, or used as a cover-up against temperamental fashion month weather, show-goers and models off-duty alike favored the wind-resistant must-have, proving they just may be the new bombers.
