Due to avocados being in high demand, according to a study, per capital consumption, the green fruit has increased from 1.1 pounds in 1989 to seven pounds in 2014.
Avocados have been very high in demand. Millennials have been choosing to enjoy a piece of beloved avocado toast over purchasing a home, according to the Australian column. The fruit has even been linked to several crimes in New Zealand.
The suspects were reported to have been selling the highly requested fruit at discounted prices.
The three alleged avocado thieves were found out following a tip that local detectives received.
Moreover, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office has stated that the three suspects have been arrested. Each bail has been set at $250,000.
