One of the deadliest shootings in US history took place this weekend. However, it appears the perpetrator of this heinous crime could have had his eyes on another music festival.
Before committing the mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest festival in Las Vegas on Sunday night. Stephen Paddock had rented condos overlooking the Life Is Beautiful festival, which took place in Las Vegas in late September.
“We’re not in a position to confirm or deny anything about Mr. Paddock’s dealings. I suggest you contact Metro [police]. As you know this is an on going investigation.” stated Melissa Warren, the public affairs officer for Fais Foley Warren, owner of the Ogden.
The annual festival was headlined this year by Chance the Rapper and Lorde. It is unclear why he avoided the festival but on Thursday, days after the Life Is Beautiful festival, Paddock checked into a room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
Three days later, Paddock began shooting at a crowd of 22,000 through broken windows of the hotel.
The motive for Paddock’s violent attack is still unclear. Investigators are still looking into the situation.
