Leonardo DiCaprio is hell bent on winning an Oscar.
While he’s already hedging bets on ‘The Revenant,’ he’s also got an ace in the hole in the form of a reunion with famed director Martin Scorsese for ‘Devil In The White City.’
Adapted from Erik Larson’s The Devil In The White City: Murder, Magic And Madness At The Fair That Changed America, DiCaprio will play Dr. H.H. Holmes, described by Deadline as a “19th century equivalent of Hannibal Lecter,” and an infamous Chicago serial killer thought to have killed as many as 200 people during the 1893 World’s Fair. According to historical record, Holmes would trap guests in his hotel, The World’s Fair Hotel, where he tortured, killed, and dissected them, even selling off skeletons for scientific study.
Yea…that’s just creepy.
This will mark DiCaprio and Scorsese’s 6th film together. The most recent? Oscar-buzz-but-no-dice-for-Leo, Wolf of Wall Street. Personally, I’m not sure if I’m down to see this one because, you know, I don’t want to – but you fine folks can expect to see Leo on his killer rampage next year.
