I’m sure by now we are all aware of the signature black and white color palette that afro-futuristic soul singer Janelle Monae has become known for over the years! It has become quite the signature fashion statement for the singer who has used for her play on androgyny and art to etch her mark in the fashion world. Janelle and her stylist (L.A based stylist Maeve Reilly) have been making headlines all week while attending Paris Fashion Week. It’s her transition from menswear inspired tuxedos to headline worthy feminine frocks during PFW that have even caught the attention of Vogue Magazine. When asked her thoughts on the new Spring/Summer 2016 collections at PFW she reveals to Vogue:
“I am so excited about all the black-and-white pieces I have seen! Each designer is so unique and distinguished. I love getting to see everyone’s different point of view and figuring out ways to incorporate it into my specific style.
I’ve definitely seen some great pieces that my stylist, Maeve Reilly, and I have added to our vision board. We have been having an incredible time and are so grateful for this experience.
Paris has been painted black and white at the hands of Janelle Monelle and her stylist Maeve. One stand out moment for the singer was attending the Chanel Airlines runway show and sharing a moment with who she refers to as her ‘Style Godfather’ – Karl Lagerfield! Janelle was drenched in black and white Chanel of course!
Lets take a look at Janelle’s PFW style moments shall we?
