Darren Osborne has been identified as the suspect of the terror attack that occurred in London yesterday. Osborne is a father of four who was born in Singapore and grew up in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. He now resides in Cardiff.
Osborne is accused of driving a van into a crowd of people outside a Muslim Welfare House near the Finsbury Park Mosque. The attack left one person dead and 11 others injured.
Darren Osborne, 47, allegedly shouted:
“I want to kill all Muslims – I did my bit.”
He shouted this after the van crashed into the crowd. Osborne has been arrested on suspicion of committing the act of terrorism and attempted murder. In a family statement, Osborne’s sister, Nicola, and his nephew, Ellis, said:
“We are massively in shock, it’s unbelievable. It still hasn’t really sunk in.”
They continued to say their “hearts go out to those who’ve been injured.”
BBC reports that Security Minister Ben Wallace said the suspect was believed to have acted alone.
