Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino Pleads Not Guilty In Tax Fraud Case

If you were a fan of MTV’s hit Summer show The Jersey Shore back in the day, then you are already familiar with one of the cast mates, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. Back in 2014, Sorrentino and his cousin were arrested for fraud charges from the government. They supposedly accumulated approximately $8.9 million between 2010 and 2012, that could have gotten them 15 or more years in jail.

Sorrentino appeared on all six seasons of the MTV reality show, which followed the lives of a group of young housemates living in New Jersey, along the ‘Jersey Shore,’ and ran from 2009 to 2012.

However, Mike and Marc Sorrentino were arraigned this morning in front of U.S. District Court Judge Susan D. Wigenton in Newark. NJ, and both were presumed not guilty.

The brothers have also previously pleaded not guilty to charges, dealing with counterfeit tax returns on nearly $9 million, and claimed millions in personal expenses as business expenses.

‘The Situation’ was also indicted this month on charges including tax evasion, structuring bank deposits to avoid reporting requirements, and falsifying records. Marc Sorrentino was charged with falsifying records to obstruct a grand jury investigation.

The two have been found not guilty.
