Paris Hilton Apologizes For Defending Donald Trump Against Sexual Assault Accusers

Paris Hilton is apologizing for defending her family friend, Donald Trump, in an old interview she did last year, where she criticized the many women who have accused the President of sexual misconduct in the past.

In a November 2016 interview with Marie Claire, Hilton said that, “Trump’s sexual assault accusers are ‘just trying to get attention and get fame.’”

Paris has known Trump since she was a child, and Trump once admitted to radio personality Howard Stern that he found his daughter Ivanka’s friend to be an attractive young girl.

“Now, somebody who a lot of people don’t give credit to but in actuality is really beautiful is Paris Hilton,” he said. “I’ve known Paris Hilton from the time she’s 12, her parents are friends of mine, and the first time I saw her she walked into the room and I said, ‘Who the hell is that?’”

“Did you wanna bang her?” Stern asked.

“Well, at 12, I wasn’t interested,” Trump said, “I’ve never been into that … but she was beautiful.”

According to HuffPost, Trump then went on to call Hilton “dumb like a fox” and admitted that he had watched her sex tape.

But, 20+ years later, and Paris defended Trump against his sexual assault accusers.hilton trump

However, despite the time it took for social media to catch on to the interview, in wake of Trump’s recent empathy towards white supremacists, many took notice of Hilton’s defense of the commander-in-chief.

Many began to take to Twitter to call Paris out on her “faux feminism.”

Hilton was quick to issue an apology following the slander on Twitter.

“I want to apologize for my comments from an interview I did last year,” she said in a statement to Us Weekly Wednesday.

“They were part of a much larger story and I am regretful that they were not delivered in the way I had intended.”

“I was speaking about my own experiences in life and the role of media and fame in our society and it was never my intention for my comments to be misapplied almost a year later,” she added, saying she’s “deeply hurt” and “deeply sorry.”

“Moving forward I will continue to do what I can to be an advocate for girls and women with the hopes of providing a louder voice for those who may desperately need it,” she said.
