An Illinois security guard is being hailed as “Heroic,” for killing an armed robber.
On January 20th, serial robber Serial armed robber Laurence Turner, 34, entered into Alpine Bank in Rockford, Illinois, wearing a ski mask and armed with a pistol. As Turner began to point his pistol at staff behind the counter, retired sheriff deputy Brian Harrison who was the bank’s security guard at the time, reacted within seconds pulling out his hand gun and firing, shooting Turner in the chest and buttocks killing him. The entire incident was captured on the bank’s security cameras.
As Harrison awaited his fate on whether or not he would face charges for the death of Turner, Winnebago County State Attorney Joe Bruscato has confirmed that he acted in self-defense and the defense of others and will, therefore, face no charges.
