Reportedly, the rock star, Robert James Ritchie, also known as ‘Kid Rock,’ has recently announced that he has taken an interest in politics. According to Fox News, Rock has announced his intentions to run for major political office as a conservative in the state of Michigan.
After the musician had an opportunity to visit the White House and pose for a picture alongside President Donald Trump, Rock mentioned that he just feels like this is his calling to do better for our country. The loyal Donald Trump supporter said via social media on Wednesday evening that his website, ‘KidRockForSenate.com,’ was, in fact, real, and his fans should stay tuned for “a major announcement in the near future.”
Moreover, the Republicans in the state of Michigan have been saying that they are excited to have Rock run on the GOP ticket in 2018. Citizens feel he will challenge the present, Democrat Debbie Stabenow, who is now the senior US. Senator from Michigan.
Michigan GOP press officer, Sarah Anderson, expressed,
“It would be awesome if Kid Rock did run for office.”
“Rock is an outspoken conservative, and was a huge supporter of Mitt Romney’s run for president against Barack Obama during his 2012 campaign.”
In addition, Rock had also mentioned that he’s a Republican on certain issues, but is a moderate on other issues.
“I am definitely a Republican on fiscal issues and the military, but I lean to the middle on social issues. I am no fan of abortion, but it’s not up to a man to tell a woman what to do. As an ordained minister I don’t look forward to marrying gay people, but I’m not opposed to it.”
However, Rock caused a cultural shock earlier this year, when he took a trip to visit President Donald Trump in the White House. He took the trip in the midst of pretty much the entire world not wanting Trump in office. During the visit, the three took the time to mock a portrait of former Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, which came off as childish for political personalities.
