Reportedly, a shooting took place at a church’s Easter carnival in Alabama. Four young teens, including a baby under the age of one, were shot.
Thankfully, the baby and the three teenagers were not critically injured after the gunfire went off. A pregnant woman was also knocked to the ground in the chaos, but witnesses say she is doing well. All of this madness took place at the Cathedral of the Cross A.O.H. Church of God, that borders Birmingham and Center Point.
The baby is currently being treated at the Children’s Hospital of Alabama, and the teenagers are at the UAB Hospital’s trauma center.
Police and firefighters were called to the scene immediately, and since then, five people are in custody for questioning.
On the other hand, authorities stated that a fight broke out at the church, and that was the reason the shooting happened.
Authorities also mentioned that around 900 people were at the carnival.
The Center Point Fire Chief, Donnie West, released a statement saying, “They are just individuals of interest that police are talking to. We are trying to see how they got a gun in there. Who shoots on church grounds?”
The church’s Spring Carnival is in its 10th year and had been in operation since Wednesday, April 12th.
