Snapchats No Longer Disappear After 10 Seconds

If you were ever concerned about what you post on Snapchat, this might make you reconsider. The newest Snapchat update features an ‘infinity’ option that allows your story or a specific snap to play over and over again, without it ever deleting. Snaps no longer have a time limit.

As part of a line of new features announced Monday, Snapchat users can now select the new “infinity” icon to let friends view a photo snap for as long as they want.

A consultant from Snapchat released a statement saying, “We’ve all felt the frustration of not being able to fully enjoy a Snap, even after replaying it, and we wanted to give you the option of allowing the recipient to enjoy your Snap as long as they’d like.”

One option that did stay the same was after a user taps to close the snap, it will delete as usual. Prior to this, you could send photos that would disappear after one to 10 seconds.

In addition, Snapchat also launched other features such as the looping of videos. By tapping the “looping” icon after taking a video snap, you can have it replay repeatedly, until your friend closes it or advances to additional posts on your Snapchat Story.

Stories, for unknown users, are photo and video posts shared by users that disappear right after 24 hours.

Another new feature is that you can now also draw with emoji’s by tapping the doodle tool and selecting an emoji.

Snapchat also added a new tool called the “magic eraser.” Users can utilize this by tapping the scissors tool and the star’s icon, users will be able to erase something in a photo snap, like a stray piece of trash on the ground, for example.

Tools will now show up vertically along the right-hand side of the screen, rather than appearing horizontally on the top right. Snapchat thinks this format will allow the company to add more creative tools to that space in the future.
