The world is still mourning the loss of beloved NBA icon Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven others who perished in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California on Sunday, January 26.

At a sensitive time like this, Gayle King sat down with WNBA legend Lisa Leslie and asked her about Kobe Bryant’s 2003 rape case during an interview for “CBS This Morning,” and you know that didn’t go down too well with social media, and they are coming for Gayle!

“It’s not complicated for me at all,” Leslie responded when Gayle asked about Bryant’s criminal case, that was thrown out. “Even if there’s a few times that we’ve been at a club at the same time, Kobe’s not the kind of guy, never been, like, ‘Lis, go get that girl, or tell her, or send her this.’ I have other NBA friends that are like that. Kobe, he was never like that. I never saw an aggressive side to Bryant being the kind of person that would do something to violate a woman or be aggressive in that way. That’s just not the person that I know.”

Gayle then continued to ask Leslie about it, adding that he might have been blind to Kobe’s other side.

Leslie responded to Gayle, adding, “I just don’t believe that, and I’m not saying things didn’t happen. I just don’t believe that things didn’t happen with force.”

The 2003 rape case was dismissed and Bryant settled with the victim out of criminal court, but what wasn’t dismissed so easily was Gayle’s intentions of even bringing the case up!
