We had a chance to sit down with some of the cast and crew of Universal’s upcoming thriller Beast!

While getting ready for the film, we spoke, to Sharlto Copley, Iyana Halley, Leah Sava Jeffries producer Will Packer and director Baltasar Kormákur.

While shooting in South Africa is an amazing experience, the stars and crew shared some moments that were scary, beautiful, and out of this world, and their interactions with real-life wild animals. While the movie sheds light on one family’s struggle against the Beast, we can also view things from the perspective of where the world is now and how the Beast is a metaphor for what we are experiencing

Beast, which premieres on August 19, follows Elba’s Dr. Nate Samuels and his two daughters, Norah (Leah Jeffries) and Meredith (Iyana Halley), who embark on a trip to South Africa and are confronted by a bloodthirsty lion on the run from poachers.

Actor Idris Elba Tests Positive For The Coronavirus

On Monday, actor Idris Elba took to social media to share some unfortunate news. The 47 year old explained in a Twitter post that he has tested positive for coronavirus.

Elba explained that he had no symptoms but after coming in contact with someone who recently tested positive, he decided to take the test to see if he also contracted the deadly virus. On Monday, he received his test back and shared the results with his fans.

“This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing. No panic.” Elba’s wife, Sabrina Dhowre, appeared beside him in his video. Elba said she has not been tested but was “doing OK.”

Elba is now the latest high profile star to share news of his coronavirus diagnosis. As we previously reported, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson announced they had tested positive for coronavirus last week. Hanks also took to social media on Sunday to give fans a little update.

While sharing a photo of his vegemite and toast set beside a kangaroo toy on Instagram, he captioned the post,

“Thanks to the Helpers. Let’s take care of ourselves and each other,” he wrote.

Hollywood Unlocked was in the building on Saturday for the world premiere of “FAST & FURIOUS PRESENTS: HOBBS & SHAW,” which premiered at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. We spoke to the cast and crew of the film on the dueling Carpets, with one side representing Hobbs and Hawaii and the other featuring Shaw and London.

“Hobbs and Shaw” is the first stand-alone spin-off from the franchise that sees Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham reprise their roles as Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw. However, this time they must team up to bring down a cyber-genetically enhanced villain named Brixton who is played by the one and only Idris Elba!

Hollywood Unlocked had the pleasure of speaking to legendary director David Leitch (Deadpool 2) who gave us insight on some of the craziest scenes to be expected in the movie. In addition, we spoke to the man responsible for writing yet another amazing script, Chris Morgan, who shed light on how he brought this movie to life and even gave us insight on how the team and family continued with the Fast franchise following Paul Walker’s untimely passing.

We also had the pleasure of speaking with Jason Statham who attended with his beautiful lady, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and he let us know whether he is a bad boy in real-life or not.
