Wendy Williams opened up about the treatment she and RHOA star Nene Leakes received during a shopping trip at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City.
According to the Daily Mail, Wendy Williams dedicated a portion of her “Hot Topics” segment to discuss the treatment she, Nene Leakes, and Marlo Hampton received during a shopping trip at Bergdorf Goodman. The trio went shopping Sunday and bought various clothing items when Bergdorf’s employees started racially profiling them:

‘Can I tell you about the security? They treated us like the hood…that they treated US. We were followed, and not with a lit credit card followed, followed like the security might have to do something.’
Williams emphasized that despite their success in media, it was still wasn’t enough to prevent being racially profiled at the high-end store:

‘You can earn what you want, you can do what you want but when you are what you are, you better not be surprised at how people treat you.’
Wendy closed out the segment with a photo of herself, Leakes, and Hampton stating she was told she couldn’t post the image due to the incident:
‘So when this place [the studio] tells me I can’t post this picture, I’m like ”You know what, I’m going to post on hot topics then and I’m going to say how it is’
So far, Bergdorf’s did not release a statement in reference to the incident.
