Hollywood Unlocked was in the building for an outstanding show and carpet at the 2019 BET Awards, hosted by Regina Hall and live from the Microsoft Theatre.

This year the legendary carpet was turned into a “Nipsey Blue” to honor the late Nipsey Hussle who passed away March 31.

Before the doors opened, we hit the blue carpet where we spoke to DanRue, O.T.Genasis, Vanessa Simmons, Lil Duval, LaLa Milan, LisaRaye McCoy, Bernice, DeVon/Meagan, Eric/Lamyia, Elle Varner, Mona Scott Young, Reginae Carter/YFN Lucci, Yandy Smith, Irv Gotti, Tyga, Jidenna, Rotimi, Trevor Jackson, YBN Cordae, Gunna and more!

The festivities didn’t end there as we witnessed a mindblowing show with an opening from Cardi B who performed ‘Press.”

Other incredible performances included John Legend, Lil Baby, Yung Miami, Billy Ray Cyrus, Lil Nas X, Migos, Mustard, Mary J Blige, Lizzo, Fantasia and many more! Not to mention Rihanna was in the building!!!

There was also a special moment when Korey Wise, Raymond Santana Jr., Yusef Salaam, Antron McCray and Kevin Richardson came on stage — as the “Exonerated Five” and were honored for everything they had to deal with as children and adults.

We were brought to tears many times with heartfelt tributes to John Singleton and Nipsey Hussle, whose family took the stage. There was not a dry eye in the theatre.

This year brought together one of our favorite shows yet and if you missed it, #PressPlay above for all of this year’s highlights!
