So here’s what we have here- Rihanna sitting down for a ‘one on one’ truth session with Vanity Fair at her favorite restaurant in LA Giorgio Baldi. Then we have Rihanna in Cuba with renowned photographer (actually the best in the game) Annie Leibovitz for a mind-blowing photo-shoot. Mash it up all together and you get one word- EPIC!
This entire editorial is the most up close and personal encounter with Rih since that emotional sit down interview she did with Oprah. This time its a little less emotional, a little more laid back- perhaps even a little more honest, plus we get an iconic photo-shoot that serves as the icing on the cake! Rihanna is dishing on everything from her fear of dating, relationships, and having relations period. She reveals “I’ve had to be so conscious about people—what they say and why people want to be with me, why people want to sleep with me…. It makes me very guarded and protective. I learned the hard way.” She continues “That’s why I haven’t been having sex or even really seeing anybody, because I don’t want to wake up the next day feeling guilty. I mean I get horny, I’m human, I’m a woman, I want to have sex. But what am I going to do—just find the first random cute dude that I think is going to be a great ride for the night and then tomorrow I wake up feeling empty and hollow?”
She doesn’t shy away from the topic of Chris Brown either- telling VF that she thought she could be strong and stick it out with him (the second time around) and how she thought of herself as his guardian angel. She makes it clear in saying “Sometimes you just have to walk away. I don’t hate him. I will care about him until the day I die. We’re not friends, but it’s not like we’re enemies. We don’t have much of a relationship now.”
On a lighter note Rih shatters the idea that her life is a constant party and reveals that she’s actually rather boring (I doubt it!). When she’s not working she actually likes watching TV- The First 48 is her ish! She also says in her opinion Rachel Dolezal is “a bit of a hero’. Well there you have it!
