If you’re unable to make it down to New Orleans next week for Lil Wayne’s first annual “Lil Weezyana Fest,” never fear because Tidal is going to be streaming the entire show on its service. After Wayne announced a new deal with the service and Jay Z earlier in the summer, it would make sense for the fledgling streaming site to have first dibs.
Except…there’s that pesky law suit filed by Cash Money honcho Brian “Birdman” Williams for infringement after Tidal hosted the exclusive rights to Wayne’s Free Weezy Album.
Let’s hope this is just a bump in the road because Tidal seems to be carving out a nice niché in the streaming game with their live-streamed concerts, having already pulled off successful shows with Jay’s “B Sides” concert, Jeezy’s TM101 Anniversary show, and now Weezy’s homecoming. The concert, which will also feature a reunion from The Hot Boys, is set to raise money to benefit victims from Hurricane Katrina, which hit New Orleans 10 years ago.
The exclusive stream of the show on Tidal will take place on Aug. 28.
