Following our announcement of her HBO first-look deal obtained in January, rising actress and comedienne Tiffany Haddish has officially embarked upon the two-year contract, with the inaugural project finding her as executive producer.
Additionally, the hot commodity is currently working on a new Instagram-themed comedy series called ‘Unsubscribed,’ which will act as “an examination of female blackness, beauty, and identity through a behind-the-scenes look at the Instagram hustle.”
In addition to Haddish’s two-year deal with the premium cable network, she’s currently starring opposite fellow comedy luminary Tracy Morgan in his new TBS series ‘The Last O.G.;’ plus she will work as both executive producer and star in the upcoming animated series ‘Tuca and Bertie‘ on Netflix.
Furthermore, the new HBO series derives from writers Xosha Roquemore and Danielle Henderson; who previously wrote for Hulu’s ‘Difficult People‘ and HBO’s own ‘Divorce.’
While speaking with ET’s Nischelle Turner at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon in March, Haddish stated:
“I’m building an empire. I want to own two streets that intersect called Tiffany and Haddish. I want to open up a youth center, a mental health center and a job training center. And, like, all the skills that they’ve taken out of school, I want to be able to teach that to people.”
