Our President Donald J. Trump reportedly revealed highly classified information to the Russian foreign minister, Sergei Kislyak, and ambassador, Sergey Lavrov, in a White House meeting last week, the Washington Post reported Monday.
Current and former intelligence officials told the news site that Trump relayed sensitive information. The information has the potential to damage U.S. national security and cooperation with allies. They have access to the inner workings of the Islamic State. The information was provided by a U.S. partner through an intelligence sharing arrangement. They did not give the United States permission to share with Russia.
Following the meeting, the White House reportedly moved quickly to contact the CIA and National Security Agency to contain the damage.
This is a developing story.
