A year after Michael Brown was shot and killed by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, violence breaks out in the place of his death. During peaceful protests in Ferguson, Missouri last night two people were shot in separate incidents – one involving Ferguson police.

The victim of the officer-involved shooting has been confirmed as Tyrone Harris, Jr. His father spoke with STL Today and told the publication that his son had undergone surgery following the shooting, and is in critical condition. Ironically, Harris and Michael Brown “were real close,” says the victim’s father. The Harris family is skeptical of the narrative being perpetuated by local officers, adding “we think there’s a lot more to this than what’s being said.”

In addition to the shooting of Harris, a shooting reportedly took place near the Canfield Green apartment complex where Brown was shot by officer Darren Wilson one year ago. No officers appear to have been involved. According to the Washington Post, the victims were 17 and 19 years old, respectively. No serious injuries were reported.
