Wesley Snipes recently sat down with TBS’s Conan and revealed that he out shined Prince during an audition.
This past Wednesday, Wesley Snipes explained how he auditioned for a role in Michael Jackson‘s BAD short film. While the short film gave Snipes his big break, he continued the story by unlocking details on how he snagged the role from legendary singer, Prince.
“Me and Prince were auditioning together, and I blew Prince out of the water.”
He goes on to say:
“Micheal told Prince he had the role and then he met me.”

O’Brien jokes with Snipes about his version of the story not being true. In addition to Snipes’ story of how he won the role over Prince, O’Brien brings up the fact that the King of Pop actually thought Snipes was a gang member.
The actor told O’Brien:
(Jackson) “really thought I was in a gang — he didn’t know that I was a trained thespian.”
The musical short film was directed by Martin Scorsese.
