The Trump administration just can’t seem to get away from the scandals. A memo by former FBI Director James Comey reveals how Trump asked him to drop the investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
This request Trump allegedly made came one day after the president revealed that Flynn lied to Vice President Mike Pence regarding his conversations with none other than the Russian ambassador.
The memo was first revealed by The New York Times. It is believed to be one of multiple documents Comey had drafted surrounding his conversations with Trump.
Comey’s friend spoke out on the condition of anonymity. He told Politico, “It’s very rich in detail and hopefully it will come out soon… There are other memos about his meetings too. He wrote down every word Trump said to him as soon as he could.”
The news instantly went viral across Washington. It further adds fuel to the fire surrounding the controversy that already exists in the White House. Trump is already facing backlash from firing Comey last week, and his alleged disclosure of highly classified information to Russian officials.
