Several prominent fashion editors refused to sit beside Tiffany Trump in the front row at the Philipp Plein show on Monday, and the incident became a topic of discussion on The View.
Whoopi Goldberg immediately came to the First Daughter’s defense, even though the talk show host is NOT a fan of Donald Trump.
The comedian was shocked at how the younger woman was treated at the show, saying:
“You know what, Tiffany, I’m supposed to go to a couple more shows. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I’m coming to sit with you. Because nobody’s talking politics. You’re looking at fashion! She doesn’t want to talk about her dad! She’s looking at the fashion! And for Elle magazine, a magazine that says it’s a woman’s magazine, to do this!”
Tiffany heard the remark and tweeted at Whoopi, accepting the invitation!
Whoopi was quick to clarify how this situation is different than boycotting Ivanka Trump‘s clothing line:
“And people say what is the difference between people boycotting Ivanka. There is a difference. That’s all about buying stuff. You’re buying stuff. This girl is looking at fashion, and she’s just looking at fashion. I just thought it was mean.”
“I don’t want to talk about your dad, but girl I will sit next to you ’cause I’ve been there when people have said, ‘Ooh we’re not gonna sit next to you.’ I will find your ass and sit next to you.”
