XXXTentacion is ready to move past an old video in which he’s seen hitting a teenage girl because he says she’s changed her story and, as a result, he’s dropping his defamation lawsuit against her.
XXXTentacion has faced a whole lot of controversy ever since his song, “Look At Me” picked up. He’s denied all allegations of domestic abuse since the case became known to the public.
However, footage of the rapper punching a woman in her face surfaced and it was reported that the prosecutors on his domestic abuse case were reviewing it. The rapper later filed a lawsuit against the girl for defamation but, it looks like he’s dropping the suit.
XXXTentacion’s defamation lawsuit against the woman he allegedly hit is being dropped, TMZ reports. The decision to drop the lawsuit comes after he said that she switched her story. Sources close to the scenario say the woman sent a notarized letter to his team and backtracked her previous comments that she didn’t share the clip earlier because she was “terrified for her life.”
In the statement, she wrote,
“The video was taken years ago when Jahseh [XXX’s real name] and I were both kids and we were just joking around. I was not injured as a result of what happened nor did it negatively affect my personal life.”
Despite the case being dropped, law enforcement says the video is still being reviewed in relation to his pending case. However, it might not have an impact because they can’t validate the exact time and place of the incident.
