11-Year-Old Spends Graduation In Hospital After Being Hit By Stray Bullet
A young boy from Brooklyn spent his graduation in hospital after being hit by a stray bullet.
Jayden Grant was getting ready for his 5th grade graduation when he was struck by a stray bullet right after he got a haircut.
Pix 11 reports that New Bridges Elementary School decided to bring graduation to Jayden at the Maimonides Medical Center.
“We were just devastated that it would happen to a member of our family, that it would happen to any child, especially in such a joyful moment,” Principal Kevin Bowles said.
“When this happened almost three weeks ago, we didn’t know. We honestly did not know that night whether he was going to make it or not,” Jayden’s grandmother, Bessie Watson, said.
Unfortunately, Jaden may not be able to walk again.
To help celebrate his belated graduation, family, friends, the school community, and the firefighters that helped save Jayden all came to support.
Once Jayden is better, he will move to a rehab center.
