16-Year-Old Kills Friend Over Video Game Controller

A Douglas County teenager has been accused of killing his friend after they got into an argument over a video game controller. It is not clear if it was Playstation or XBox.

WSBTV reports that Gabriel Martinez Cruz, 16, allegedly murdered his friend, Gonzalo Lamar Gonzalez-Abara, 17, at a Lakeside Mobile Home Park on Monday. Friends of Abara said that he was a good kid that never got into trouble.

Apparently, after the argument ensued, Cruz got mad and allegedly grabbed a gun and shot Gonzalez-Abara before making an escape. Numerous other teenagers were reported to be in the home at the time of the incident. Police are not clear what led to the fight.

Cruz was later arrested on charges of malice murder and tampering with evidence. As of now, no further information is available on the investigation.

Sources close to the two boys say that the shooting was an accident.
