21 Savage Donates $25,000 For Detained Immigrants To Have Legal Counsel
21 Savage has donated $25,000 to a nonprofit legal advocacy agency that helped him while he was detained in ICE back in February.
21’s attorney, Charles Kuck announced that the donation will help immigrants obtain counsel for their cases.
“21 Savage is making this donation public because everyday Americans need to know that ICE is using civil immigration detention as a weapon against immigrants, many of whom, like 21 Savage, have relief from deportation and are able to fix their immigration status,” Kuck said in a statement.
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), is a nonprofit legal advocacy organization that specializes in civil rights, immigration detention, and public interest law.
As we reported, despite being an Atlanta native, the rapper is actually a British citizen. Back in February, he was targeted by Federal and local authorities who wanted to have him deported back to the U.K.
